Standard (tier-0) headline maker/taker spot fees from each exchange's public schedule, as of 2026-08. Real cost also includes spread, funding and withdrawal fees, and most exchanges discount fees at higher 30-day volume — so the lowest headline fee isn't always the cheapest in practice. This tool shows the math; it is not financial advice.
Why headline fees mislead
The cheapest advertised fee is rarely the cheapest real cost. A market (taker) order pays more than a limit (maker) order, spreads widen the true price on thin pairs, and withdrawal fees vary by coin and network. That is why we rank exchanges on a five-pillar score rather than headline fees alone — and why this tool weights your own maker/taker pattern instead of quoting one number.
FAQ
How is the fee cost calculated?
We multiply your monthly volume by each exchange's published maker and taker spot fee, weighted by the maker/taker split you choose. It reflects standard tier-0 headline fees only — spread, funding and withdrawal fees are extra.
Is the lowest headline fee always the cheapest?
No. A low maker/taker fee can be wiped out by a wide spread or high withdrawal fees. Use this as a first filter, then read each exchange review for the full cost picture.
Do fees drop at higher volume?
Yes — most exchanges lower fees at higher 30-day volume tiers or when you pay with their native token. This calculator uses standard tier-0 fees, so your real cost at high volume may be lower.
